10 Years of Peace

A reflection on the decade since the end of the Venturo-Stibbardian War II

December 9th, 2007  -  December 9th, 2017

“...the outstanding and ultimate feeling was one of overwhelming admiration for what must have been a difficult decision, and for the prominent and firm stand that the Stibbards have taken for their belief, regardless of circumstances.”

These words, transcribed from a letter written from the Venturan Foreign Minister to the Stibbardian Foreign Minister in December 2007, are no less true today. The redoubtable Stibbardian resolve is a trait to be admired still. Stick to your guns, and stand firm on your convictions!

As we all look back on the past ten years, let us remember the Faithfulness of Almighty God upon us, and reflect upon the epochs that are now the past.

In War, you were a gallant foe. Honour was for you above even victory, and the conduct of your Nation was without equal. During the two wars (Venturo-Stibbardian War I - 2005 to 2007, and Venturo-Stibbardian War II - 2007), we fought one another, but we fought well. Our conflict was that of an epic struggle, and the exploits thereof live forever in the history-books.

In Peace, we have all enjoyed rest from arms. We have continued to live as neighbours; we have grown up, and some of us have even begun our own Nations. God has showered his Grace on all - we live in His Mercy.

Just as in War, when we fought well, let us live in Peace together equally well. Let us give ourselves wholly to the brotherly love which draws us together in Christ, so that all men may know that we are His disciples.

As it is written -

“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

Ephesians 4:1-6
